Lionheart

Heavy paws thudded the packed forest floor as they ran acrossed it, a constant sorce of noise to Lionhearts sensitive ears. He ran faster reaching top speed as he lanched himself over a fallen log. His breath came in short pants and he was a bit tired but hos daily excersice was not over. In the distance he heard a elaphants trumpet and the answer call back. 

He ran back the way he had come dodging trees and bolders that were in his way. He loved his daily run but it had to end some time. Now he was headed home.

As soon as he got home he greeted his mother with a gentle lick on the forehead and laid beside her panting as he rested his weary legs.

"How was your run Lionheart?" asked his mother.

"It was excellent and I heard the calling of the elaphants this time around," he said.

"Well good," she laughed. "Just dont go to far away from home, there are lions even you cant tackle on your own out there."

"I know mother,"Lionheart said rolling his eyes.

" Lol maybe you should rest now." said Talaniea licking his forehead.

Lionheart put his head on his paws and drifted off to sleep.

A high pich whistle sounded through the cool morning ear and Lionheart and his family's ears perked up as they all leaped to their feet and shot out the door heading for the cattle fields.

When they got out they all spread out within ten miles of each other to watch the field for any sign of lionesses on the prowl. If they spotted one tey were to bark to alert the other then go down and stop it in any way possible.
